7075 Aluminum Sheet

7075 aluminum sheet is a premium high-strength Al-Zn-Mg-Cu series alloy sheet, recognized as one of the most powerful commercial aluminum alloys for high-stress applications.

Core Characteristics

Ultra-high strength-to-weight ratio: Strength comparable to low-carbon steel, but only 1/3 the weight.

Good machinability: Easy to cut, mill, drill and tap, with consistent processing performance.

Limited formability: Lower ductility than 6082 or 3104, suitable for simple bending rather than deep drawing or complex forming.

Corrosion performance: Prone to stress corrosion cracking in severe environments; T73 temper effectively improves this defect.

Anodizing effect: Forms a dense, uniform oxide film, supporting coloring for both protective and aesthetic needs.

Key Mechanical Properties

Tensile strength: ≥ 540MPa (varies slightly by temper, T6 temper is the most representative).

Yield strength: ≥ 480MPa (excellent load-bearing capacity for structural use).

Elongation: ≥ 11% (balances ultra-high strength with moderate ductility).

Common tempers: T6 (solution heat-treated + artificial aging, most widely used), T651 (stress-relieved after T6, better dimensional stability), T73 (enhanced corrosion resistance, suitable for harsh environments).
